1. Aerospace Innovative Training Symposium
Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at OKC Convention Center.

The Oklahoma City Innovation District is assembling the first annual Aerospace Week in Oklahoma. A vital part of the week will include the Aerospace Innovative Training Symposium, powered by the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics. The symposium will provide a national forum to explore the nexus of emerging technologies in the field of aerospace technical training. Learn about the latest advances in extended reality technologies and artificial intelligence/machine learning and how they create opportunities to gain efficiencies in training current and future aerospace workforces.

This symposium will organize attendees into facilitated working groups of academia, government and commercial aerospace leaders to identify solutions that will strengthen Oklahoma's Aerospace workforce pipeline.

2. Workforce Dynamics in Oklahoma's Emerging Aerospace Industry

To assist in understanding the current Oklahoma Aerospace Workforce pipeline, in fall of 2023 UASCI published a research report on the workforce development landscape in the state's burgeoning aerospace industry. The report sheds light on the key challenges and prospects within the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry in Oklahoma, emphasizing the necessity to bridge workforce gaps.

You can download and read this report at this link. Charting the Course: Workforce Dynamics in Oklahoma's Emerging Aerospace Industry .

3. Available Lab Technologies

The UASCI Newsletter is introducing a section that identifies technology licensing opportunities from Federal Lab research or universities. The listings in this section generally do not fully meet the standards for a startup or new product line as are considered in the Lab to Business presentations. HOWEVER, these technologies may be a specific component technology or capabiliity that wil enhance your business or product line. The links will provide you with more information on the technology along with follow up contact information.

Remote Sensing of Subsurface Soil Moisture
An instrument/software that allows remote sensing of subsurface soil moisture from an airborne instrument using reflective electromagnetic radiation. From Purdue University. No patent

Hyperspectral imaging data compression
A technique for compressing digital hyperspectral or multispectral imagery data. From Naval Research Lab. Available for express license.

Note that changes are coming to our Lab to Business technology presentations, watch for upcoming announcements.

4. Listen to the Rethink Vertical Podcast
